Meet Judy Velez

I believe in leadership grounded in integrity, practical experience, and policies that put working families first.

I’m a wife, mother, and small business owner. Before starting my own business, I spent years in executive leadership roles in the private sector, managing multimillion-dollar budgets, leading teams, and being accountable for results. Those experiences have taught me how to manage resources carefully, solve problems, make informed decisions, and follow through.

During my nearly 14 years in the 30th Ward, I’ve been an active advocate for our community — speaking up for the needs of our neighborhoods, pushing for safer streets and better city services, and working to make sure residents’ concerns are heard by the people who represent us. My community involvement has also included serving on my child’s Local School Council, where I had the opportunity to contribute to decisions affecting our school and the families it serves.

That combination of professional, small business, and community experience has shaped how I approach leadership. Our Ward deserves an office that is well run and responsive, along with representation at City Hall that approaches budgets, policies, and taxpayer dollars with care and responsibility.

My priorities are clear: affordability and responsible use of taxpayer dollars, public safety residents can count on, and strong neighborhoods where families and local businesses can thrive.

Effective leadership means understanding the needs of every neighborhood in our Ward and turning that understanding into meaningful action. I’m committed to doing the work necessary to ensure residents are represented at City Hall and that our community’s priorities remain at the center of every decision.
